Wow if you think 2012 has a lot to offer on the gaming front, holy smokes 2013 is going to be even better! I took another glance today at the trailer for Rainbow 6: Patriots, another high-octane installment to the Tom Clancy series. The trailer alone has me on the edge of my seat and anticipating more footage, so my hope is that Ubisoft doesn’t keep the masses waiting too long, but I do recognize their commitments to Ghost Recon Future Soldiers.
In any regards we the consumer will take what we can get for the meantime and if I’m Ubisoft, I am thinking about what the future will hold for its too popular series. Here is an excerpt about the game from our partners at IGN.com:
“Rainbow 6: Patriots offers a dynamic single-player storyline and innovative co-op and multiplayer experiences for fans of the tactical shooter series. Team Rainbow faces a new and very real threat called the “True Patriots,” a highly-trained, well-organized revolutionary group that claim the American government is irrevocably corrupted by greedy politicians and corporate special interests.
The True Patriots will do whatever it takes to reclaim their country. Playing as Rainbow, players will face critical scenarios that will require them to make tough ethical decisions in order to stop this new breed of terrorists.
In addition to the immersive single-player storyline, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots will introduce a huge variety of new innovative co-op and multi-player experiences. Players will be rewarded for working as a team and mastering the game’s new features that enhance communication and tactical execution between teammates. Success will come from a mix of split-second decision making and working to coordinate attacks against the enemy.”
Not only will Rainbow 6: Patriots bring out the best in the tactical shooter series, but its new plot line will bring a different approach to domestic politics. We have grown accustomed to the “terrorist” theme in many of the present shooter games, but R6: Patriots is bringing us a threat that is local and present within this great nation. How the hell can you not be thrilled about this game! If you aren’t a fan then start beating yourself in the head because this is some real stuff and could give our good friends at Activision a real run for their money. More news to come as it gets released but look for R6: Patriots in early 2013.
Check out the above kick ass trailer of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Patriots presented by Ubisoft and show us Editors some love and comment about the game. As noted in the video, this isn’t actual gameplay footage but solely a vision that Ubisoft has for the game. As my partner in crime always says “It’s About To Go Down…”
